To contact us, please send your request to:
San Mateo Superior Court

Redwood City, California 94063
Phone: (650) 363-4922
You will need to include:
- Case Number
- Parties Involved
- Approximate Filed date of the document or description
- Self-addressed postage paid envelope
If you don't have the case number, you may conduct a search by accessing our Public Records Index. Records Management does not research files. If you don't know the date the document was filed, you may search for it by accessing our website, or you may retain the services of a local copy service to assist you.
A fee of $0.50 per side is charged, with an additional $25.00 for certified copies (or $15 for certified copies of divorce or domestic partnership dissolution record). If the file is offsite, there is a fee of $10 per file for retrieval. Please make your checks payable to "Superior Court". If you're unsure how many pages the document contains, please write, "Not to Exceed $40.00" in the memo section of your check. We'll fill in the amount and provide you with a receipt showing you the amount you were charged. If you're requesting a large document or multiple certified copies, please increase your "Not to Exceed" amount accordingly. Once we receive your letter, you may expect a reply within 21 days.
