Hearing Schedules / Court Appearances

As of April 2, 2012, the Traffic Clerk's Offices located at 800 N. Humboldt Street in San Mateo and 1050 Mission Road in South San Francisco consolidated and relocated to the Traffic Division at 500 County Center in Redwood City. All traffic arraignment calendars and traffic court trials are heard at the Redwood City location regardless of where in San Mateo County you received your traffic citation.

All appearances in traffic court must be scheduled in advance. Same day walk-ins are no longer available. Requests to reserve a court date may be made on-line through the court's website, in person at the traffic clerk's office in Redwood City, or by a court clerk over the phone. Reserve early as space is limited. You are not required to deposit bail when requesting an arraignment hearing or when requesting a court trial at your arraignment appearance.

Please note that court trial dates with the officer present cannot be reserved through the court's website or over the phone. If you wish to plead not guilty and request a court trial with the officer present to contest your citation without initially appearing in court to make that request, please refer to the Options on How to Take Care of your Traffic Citation/Ticket section of our website for more information.
