You can ask for copies by mail by sending your request to:

In your request, include:
- Case Number
- Defendant's Name
- Approximate date the document was filed (or a description of the document)
- Self-addressed, postage-paid envelope
- Appropriate fee
If you don't have the case number, you may search Public Records Index. The Criminal Division does not research files.
There is a copy fee of $0.50 per page per side (if the page is double sided)
There is an extra charge of $40.00 for each document that is certified.

If paying by check, make it payable to "Superior Court." If you are unsure of how many pages the document contains, in the MEMO section of the check write, "Not to Exceed $200.00." We will fill in the amount and give you a receipt showing you the amount charged. If you are asking for a large document or several certified copies, make sure your "Not to Exceed" amount will cover those fees. Once we receive your request, we will reply within 21 days.
Under Government Code §70633(b) and §70631, as of January 1, 2020, copying fees apply to all public agencies.
